Should I use Google Translate?

Many times I have been asked if it is a good idea to use Google Translate. My answer is:

You may ask why? Well, because it changes the grammar structures and message. Words have different meanings according to the context they are used. Google Translate is a multilingual machine that is supposed to translate whole sentences; however, it lacks of context and tends to translate incorrectly with really poor grammar.

I encourage you to watch the video below and see how badly it changes the meaning.

Instead of using translators, you should try to write your own sentences. When you write your own sentences even though they might not be well structured, they are going have the grammar rules that you were taught. Therefore, they will be far better than the ones used from Google Translate. Here are some examples of dictionaries you can use to get help when you write:
